Kabbalah: lit. 'received tradition' The body of classical Jewish mystical teachings, the central text of which is the Zohar.
Kabbalas Ol: lit. 'acceptance of the yoke': Self-subordination to the Will of G-d.
Kabbalat Shabbat ("welcoming the Sabbath"): The series of prayers recited as a prelude to the Friday night prayer service, to mark the onset of the Sabbath.
Kabbalist: Expert in Torah mysticism.
Kaddish: A prayer sanctifying G-d's Name which is used to signal passage from one stage to another of the prayer service, and is also said for the deceased.
