(5746) Rashi (Num. 29:35): "A time of restriction for you". The necessity for the three comments:

1) Restricted from working,
2) Restrain yourselves from leaving .. they were required to remain [in Jerusalem] overnight
3) “Please make Me a small feast etc.".

The innovations from this Rashi to the halacha regarding [Shmini Atzeret being considered] "a separate holiday" (regel bifnei atzmo). The boundary of the obligation of "remaining" (lina); The connection between Shmini Atzeret to the second Diaspora festival day (yom tov sheni shel galuyot) in its inner aspects.
