(5730) Explanation of the two debates between R' Yishmael and R' Akiba in the aspect of Matan Torah - If the Bnei Yisroel answered “Yes” to the positive commandments and “No” to the negative ones; or that they answered “Yes” to all the commandments (Mechilta 20:1) and if one “saw what is usually seen, and heard what is usually heard.” or that the people “heard what is usually seen and saw what is usually heard.”(Mechilta 20:15)
