Have we not been shamed in the world? etc

(Ps.71:2): “With Your charity, You shall save me and rescue me; extend Your ear to me and save me“    215

Explanation of the Midrash: “You do not save us because of our charity and good deeds etc.”

(Ps.71:3):  “Be for me a sheltering rock in which to enter continually; You commanded (others) to save me because You are my rock and my fortress” 216

Differences between this verse and Tehillim 31:3

(Ps 71:4): “My G-d, rescue me from the hands of the wicked, from the palm of him who treats unjustly and robs”  219

The three terms wicked, him who treats unjustly, and robs. Yet by “him who treats unjustly” it mentions “from the hand”

Explanation of the Midrash “’ I relied on You from birth’ – in Galut Mitzrayim “

(Ps.71:7):   “I was an example for the multitude, but You were my strong shelter” 225

Explanation of the Midrash “’I was an example for the multitude’ many miracles did You perform for me in Egypt and at the Sea”

(Ps.71:8):   “My mouth will be filled with Your praise, all the days with Your glory“ 228

Explanation of the Talmud (Berachot 3b) “If one forgot and brought food into his mouth without a blessing etc.”

(Ps.71:9): “Do not cast me away at the time of old age; when my strength fails, do not forsake me“   230

Explanation of what is written in the sefer Or Meir in the name of the Baal Shem Tov that it seemingly is not understood.  For it appears that one does not need so much help from G-d, in one’s youth etc.

(Ps.71:10): “For my enemies said of me, and those who watch for my soul took counsel together, (Saying, G-d has forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is no rescuer”) 233
