Translation:

Sichat Motzai Shabbat Bereshit – to Jewish woman and girls 5735 - תשל"ה

Par. 1     Shabbat Bereshit- the last Shabbat of the month of Tishrei - an inclusive month (חודש הכללי). The epitome of the “mundane year” (שנת החול). “Yaakov went on his way”. To draw down Judaism, G-dliness and holiness even into mundane "manners”. This aspect begins in the conduct of the “home” which is dependent of Jewish woman and girls, the "mainstay of the home" (עקרת הבית). This is through lighting Shabbat candles on Erev Shabbat.

Par. 6 Another connection of women to kindling Shabbat candles - it is not just a rectification of Chava’s faltering, but rather the inner reason is that this is honor for raising holy children and adding peace in the world and long life for one’s husband.

Par 7.    In our generation, even young girls, who have reached the age of education must light Shabbat and Yom Tov candles, and also give Tzedakah beforehand.

Par 9.     Virtue of women’s’ gatherings to study Torah and so forth.

Par 10.  Lesson from Rashi’s commentary in the beginning of Parshat Noach – regarding Chinuch. 1. Remembering Tzaddikim in a praiseworthy manner. 2. The "descendants" of Tzaddikim are good deeds.

Par 13.  Blessings to Jewish women and girls, and encouragement in the three Mitzvot of Shabbat candles, Kashrut and Family Purity.

First day of Selichot 5713 (Yiddish and Hebrew) 410-412

Rosh Hashanah - day of man’s creation who is the purpose of Creation. In avodah this means that a person draws down his aspect of “man” into his “vegetative” and “mineral” aspects.

Days of Selichot 5714                   414-415

The past year proved all the lies in many ideals and “isms”. The deficiency of “compromise” in aspects of Torah and Mitzvot.

Days of Selichot 5715                       415

Rosh Hashanah - day of man’s creation who has free-choice to reveal the simple faith within him, and to influence the entire world despite his small number.

Days of Selichot 5716                       417

An accounting of the soul must be in a manner that does not accentuate deficiencies. For negative things do not have the power versus positive things. Therefore, one must negate despair etc.

Days of Selichot 5717                       419

The manner of an accounting of the soul from an analogy of the limbs of a body. Just as each organ is dependent and influences the other organs, so too, each person of Yisroel  and each community is dependent and influences all Yisroel. Meditating on the history of the Jewish People proves the error of the view that “we should be like all the nations” or that of “compromises”

Chof-Hei Elul 5718                       423

“Seek My face”; Your face, Hashem, will I seek!”: Even those who outwardly appear to be lacking – through the revealing of the Pnimiyut will come before G-d.  This is especially pertinent to Rabbis and Teachers in their dealings with their followers.

Chof-Hei Elul 5719                       425

Chof-Hei Elul 5722                       431

After a year of danger of atomic weapons and danger to Jewish communities, and similarly to Yisroel – each person must endeavor to rectify the situation by accepting the yoke of the kingdom of Heaven  that brings a life of spiritual and physical happiness; and Teshuvah, prayer and Tzedakah that annul an evil decree.

Days of Selichot 5723                       434

The advice that awakening Days of Awe - accepting the yoke of the kingdom of heaven and teshuvah  - should have its effect, when it starts from the individual, each person with his specific Avodah

Days of Selichot 5724                       438

Rosh Hashanah - the day of the creation of man who effects, in the whole world,  the recognition the kingdom of G-d. So too, each person of Yisroel is similar to Adam HaRishon, whose action is "(G-d) Rule over the whole world .. and everyone know etc"; Especially in our time when one person can destroy the whole world, and the measure of good is greater.

Days of Selichot 5725                       441

Approaching the year of the Shemita, one must learn from the Scriptural order, "the Land shall rest . . for six years sow the land etc.". The purpose of it all, and the first thought is “a Sabbath to G-d”. This also must be in all the Avodah of a person.

Days of Selichot 5726                       444

Two opposing points in the Mitzvah of "Hakhel": Congregating all the people, even the simplest and the reading of the Parshiot by the king, the chosen among the people; The deep Bitul to G-d through the king nullifying the ego and the “I” of the one hearing. Through this Torah permeates all parts of his beig. From this, the lesson at this time.

Days of Selichot 5727                       447

End of the "Hakhel" year - time to correct all matters in thought, speech and deed, through proper Teshuvah.

Days of Selichot 5728                       450

From the main aspects of Rosh Hashanah - the coronation of God as King by accepting the yoke of His kingship – this is applicable every day; In our era where many countries are built on "independence", the aspect of "Kaballat Ol" is more difficult. However, G-d says: "I ask only according to their power". On the contrary, there is a virtue of the feeling of "independence".

Days of Selichot 5729                       453

Rosh Hashanah – “This day is the beginning of Your deeds” - the day of man’s Creation is the purpose of Creation; The overpowering of quality over quantity; and so too in the Avodah of every person

Days of Selichot 5731                       462

General lesson from the verse "You are all standing etc." that is always read before Rosh Hashanah: The standing of all Yisroel strong and united as one, for one purpose - to make a covenant with G-d; especially regarding the Minhagim of the communities; and the times have not changed - "today".

Days of Selichot 5732                       467

Continuation of the above: The virtue of "drawers of water” over that of “your heads”. The virtue of the heel over that of the head (Likkutei Torah – Nitzavim). How can there be a condition that negates the possibility of fulfilling Torah and Mitzvot (even through Mesirat Nefesh). The virtue of feeling and intent (including the pain from not being able to fulfill the Mitzvot) over deed. Carefulness in the situation if one is indeed unable (אנוס).

Chai Elul 5732                                    471

Multiplicity and unity in Creation, including "time"; Virtue of Rosh Hashanah that occurs on Shabbat; “man was born to toil”, on the day of Shabbat – spiritual toil

Vav Tishrei  5733                                475

Continuation of the above: The year of the Shemita – a Sabbath to G-d; The whole world is owned by G-d; the Mitzvot of Tzedakah, and not just physical Tzedakah.

Motzai Shabbat Kodesh – Chai Elul 5733                       479

Rosh Hashanah teaches us the responsibility and powers given to each individual to impact the entire world like Adam HaRishon.

Vav Tishrei  5734                             484

Continuation of the above: The aforementioned is also relevant to all the people of Yisroel as One People. Although "you are the least of all peoples", nevertheless they have in their power to influence all other peoples, and also abroad and during the Galut; The connection to the year  of "Hakhel".

Days of Selichot 5734                       489

Every one of Yisroel has the power to effect the coronation of G-d as King and through joy; Through trust in G-d, “G-d is my light and salvation, from whom shall I fear”, “Hope in G-d . . Hope in G-d”.
